My Journey

My Journey

‘When asked about who I am, my response is simple. I am unapologetically a proud mother, wife and professional – all in that order! I love God and strive to keep my relationship with Him my top priority, not just on Sundays but every day. I’m a work in progress.'

So why read about me?

Mine is a story of self-discovery and empowerment.

When I turned forty-five, I realized that I was far from living a life that stretched me to my full potential. I had gotten stuck in the ‘corporate rat race’ and continued to view the world from the sidelines. Always wanting to become a more active participant but never being fearless enough to take that step.

I’ve always wanted to make a difference. At least in my own little way and in a way that I knew how. I decided that with every year that brought me closer to 50 (half a century!), I would make a conscious effort to ignore that cautious voice that always whispered for me to take the safe way; the non-confrontational route; the unadventurous option. This time around, I decided to push the mantle and be willing to learn from mistakes, regardless of how big or small they were but choosing to actually ‘LIVE’ rather than to ‘EXIST’.

That’s when my journey to ENMedia began.

I have always been inquisitive. Always asking ‘why’. You can imagine how much I drove my parents crazy with that word! So, it was natural for me to start creating platforms for frank discussions. Discussions that tackled the real issues and uncovered some societal truths that the different generations experienced. Questions about drugs, relationships, work and so much more.

As a parent, a senior executive and a functional member of society, I felt it important to bring these conversations to more families so that as a society, we bridge the generational gap and actually learn from each other. The world is changing. I grew up without a cellphone, our library at home was littered with thesauruses and dictionaries (all the information my kids can get from Google or Youtube!). I am clear that with an open mind, Generation X can teach me a thing or two and if they are open to frank conversation, they can benefit from my experiences as well.

So join me on this Life journey to better understanding our world and the various people who live in it! Choose to ‘Live’ with me, for I certainly would appreciate your views.

Love and Light Always!

MOTHERS DAY

I used to always introduce myself as a mother 1st, and then a professional. Was that so wrong? It’s debatable 🤷🏽‍♀️ and so in professional circles, I started feeling the pressure to keep the intro’s ‘clean’.
